The SuRVivor

Honk if You are a Survivor!

Deb August 23, 2007The SuRVivor, a 38 foot Class-A Damon Intruder motor-home, hit the road on August 1, 2007 to honor the courageous cancer survivors and families living throughout our country!   The tour will extend over 12 months, 10,000 miles and approximately 20 states and is designed to raise funds for cancer research, provide support to survivors and build awareness of the existing resources, tools and opportunities available to all when batting against this catastrophic disease.

Today, there are approximately 10,000,000 cancer survivors amongst us, but the impact goes well beyond those 10 millions who are directly effected.  Friends, family members, co-workers all struggle in this battle, whether it be their own fight or the fight supporting a loved one.  In today’s day and age, it is almost impossible to find anyone who is not somehow touched by the affects of cancer.

We ask that you take this journey with us!  Help us build an extraordinary experience that truly can make a difference in each of our communities.  Contribute your thoughts, your stories, your ideas and your encouragement.  This road we are about to embark upon will not be too dissimilar to the proverbial road of life, riddled with pot-holes and unexpected twists.  But it will most assuredly lead us to some of the most glorious places and people that we might not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience!

An extraordinarily altruistic endeavor!! The world is a better place with people like you, who are not only willing, but eager, to extend themselves above and beyond the call of duty.

I participated in the St. Baldrick’s event held here in Las Vegas on March 10, 2007. At the present time I look like a little boy with a whiffle!! It’s a wonderful way to express our good fortune and stand proud behind these children with this dreadful disease.
Go Deborah…….you and Gary look wonderful. Stay young and beautiful, we LOVE you,

Ethal, it is people like you who humble me! For all that you have done for so many, given all that you have personally been through, you have the right to stand proud!

    Hi Deborah,
I was so happy to chat with you. You and Gary are doing something incredibly adventuresome as well, charitable. What a way to make a statement in your lives. I’m proud of the two of you.
I’m sure your keeping a daily log. Have the children you meet along the way sign a guest book. It will be fun to look back at. I known that first hand from our cottage guest book that now has it’s place here in Vegas. One day, I’ll show you your former signature!!
Make up some personal cards that you can give the children you meet along the way. Hopefully, they will be many lucky survivors that will stay in contact with you. That would be a wonderful reward.
I’ve known you before you were born and it makes me proud to see how you’ve grown into the lovely woman you are.
Stay in touch……I’ll phone you periodically to see what’s going on and of course…..stay well and safe.
    We send our Love,
    Al & Ethel XOXO 16505
